FAQ #1
What do you stand for and what’s wrong with Mr. Shounak Dharap?

We disagree with Mr. Dharap that some students are more deserving than others of receiving what they need from public schools. He repeatedly claims that the role of public schools is to serve the disadvantaged and struggling, but students who wish to excel are ignored. We believe that each student deserves to receive the education they need. We also dislike his full-throated support of an Ethnic Studies high-school requirement, which was approved without the necessary transparency and community feedback.

FAQ #2
Are you part of the MAGA movement?

We are a diverse coalition representing a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures. This diversity is what makes our community truly strong. Our recall effort is not about political affiliation. It’s about standing up for all parents, students, teachers, homeowners, renters and other folks that care about PAUSD.

Suggestions that our campaign aligns with MAGA is both inaccurate and needlessly divisive. We firmly reject lazy political labeling and remain committed to supporting those of every political belief that are pro-education

FAQ #3
Isn’t running a recall expensive? So why not just wait until the next regular election to change the PAUSD board membership?

Transparency, alignment with voters, and improved governance have indisputably high return-on-investment.

FAQ #4
Why don’t you list on this site who is behind this recall?

This is a movement for families in Palo Alto and is bigger than any individual. We also want to avoid what has happened in the recent past – bullying, harassment, and retaliation directed at students and parents whose opinions differ from those of the PAUSD board, administration, and staff.

Inclusion. Safety. Excellence.

These are core values of our Palo Alto community.
